The foundation of our certification journey is built on thorough evidence collection. Schools are required to compile and submit critical documentation that offers a transparent window into their academic ecosystem.
This includes the Assessment Policy, which outlines your philosophy, benchmarks, and practices in student evaluation; sample gradebooks that reflect your record-keeping rigor across various subjects and grade levels; standards-aligned assessments demonstrating your ability to evaluate students in accordance with recognized learning standards; detailed unit plans outlining instructional design, learning outcomes, and assessment strategies; and, if available, sample transcripts that help validate both the progression and successes of your student body.
Each document serves as both a reflection of your commitment to holistic education and a baseline for our review process. This meticulous collection is not a mere box-checking exercise but a chance for your institution to spotlight strengths, identify areas for continuous improvement, and take pride in transparent academic operations.
Once the required evidence is on hand, the application phase offers a streamlined, accessible pathway for schools to initiate the certification process.
Institutions begin by filling out a specialized Google Form, designed to gather essential information, including the desired level of certification—whether Initial, Standard, or Advanced. The form’s structure enables applicants to present their institution’s profile accurately, articulate aspirations, and choose a certification track most suitable to their current reality and growth mindset.
This step is intentionally crafted to be user-friendly, reducing administrative burdens and making entry into the certification journey straightforward for everyone, regardless of institutional size or technical capacity.
Schools are thus empowered to focus on what truly matters: reflecting on their educational vision, strategic priorities, and readiness for external validation.
With the application submitted, our team embarks on an initial review to ascertain compliance with non-negotiable criteria before progressing to a deep-dive evaluation.
At this stage, emphasis is placed on verifying the existence of key foundational elements namely, ACC Standards 1, 2, and 3 which cover basic requirements for academic policies, operational standards, and core educational values.
Crucially, this review is not concerned with the quality or effectiveness of these elements at this stage, but simply ensures that the minimum standards are documented and in place.
By rigorously maintaining this checkpoint, we guarantee that every institution moving forward is fundamentally aligned with the principles of robust, standards-based education, thereby establishing a common ground for the more comprehensive assessments to follow.
For schools that meet initial requirements, the process advances to a comprehensive evaluation an intensive, collaborative exploration of submitted materials, practices, and stakeholder experiences. Here, expert reviewers delve into every aspect of the documentation: analyzing assessment policies for rigor and alignment, examining gradebooks for consistency, inspecting assessments for adherence to learning standards, and reviewing transcripts and unit plans for completeness and coherence.
This is complemented by online interviews with key stakeholders school leaders, teachers, parents, and, where appropriate, students. These interviews are an invaluable opportunity to uncover practical insights, contextual challenges, and institutional successes that may not be fully captured in written evidence.
This holistic approach ensures a well-rounded, genuine understanding of your institution’s culture, operational excellence, and readiness for certification, moving far beyond the surface for a meaningful accreditation journey.
Upon successful completion of the evaluation, institutions that have met or exceeded the required standards are awarded certification and granted the right to display a digital badge on their official website. This certification is not just an emblem of achievement but a powerful tool for building reputation, earning trust from your community, and attracting new opportunities for partnership and growth.
For schools at the start of their journey, a Provisional or Initial Certification is available, valid for one year, providing a roadmap for ongoing improvement with support and actionable feedback; this can later be upgraded to a Standard or Advanced status through renewed application and assessment.
